Day 257: Loveliness

'Look how it makes all the loveliness it can.' Now, there's a thought.

Passing the Unworked Field - Mary Oliver

Queen's Anne's lace

     is hardly

           prized but

all the same it isn't

            idle look

                           how it

             stands straight on its

thin stems how it

             scrubs its white faces

                 with the

rags of the sun how it

               makes all the

                        loveliness

                               it can.

  1. Lovely! ;-D I too love seeing Queen Anne's lace blooms. I faintly remember there is some significance of the blossom having a dark spot in its center.

  2. And I never knew the name of them until now - a cool name it is!
