Day 725: Rain in Summer

"St Swithin’s Day, if it does rain
Full forty days, it will remain
St Swithin’s Day, if it be fair
For forty days, t'will rain no more."

Traditionally, if it rains today on St Swithin's Day, then it will rain for the entire summer. It is raining today in Ireland. Oh, no.

Lodged - Robert Frost

The rain to the wind said,
'You push and I'll pelt.'
They so smote the garden bed
That the flowers actually knelt,
And lay lodged - though not dead.
I know how the flowers felt.
