Day 104: Beloved
Since it's National Poetry today (in Ireland) I'm sharing one of my all-time favourite poems.
From Raymond Carver, renowned American short story writer. His trademark brevity and precision are taken to new heights in his poetry.
I love the simplicity of this poem. And its shining truth.
Late Fragment - Raymond Carver
And did you get what
you wanted from this life, even so?
I did.
And what did you want?
To call myself beloved, to feel myself
beloved on the earth.
